In this session we will provide an overview of racial and health equity, explain how inequity impacts health and well-being, and examine how you can help mitigate harms and promote equity for your patients.

Course Objectives

Following the training, participants will be able to:

• Define racial and health equity
• Explain how racism and intersecting oppressions impact opportunities for people to experience health and well-being
• Describe the role of the health care system in maintaining social and health disadvantages
• Examine the ways that public health and health care can help mitigate harms and promote racial and health equity

This continuing nursing education activity today is provided by the nonprofit Converge. Criteria for successful completion include completing quizzes in each of the three lesson and submission of completed evaluation form.
